You’ll find rigs parked at trailheads, in downtown lots, and at Salt River recreation areas. While stealth camping isn't advised in residential zones, you’re surrounded by BLM land and legal overnight spots within 30–60 minutes in nearly every direction.

Safety and Navigation
Tempe is pretty safe for a good-sized urban town, especially in and around ASU, downtown, and the park corridors. Avoid stealth camping in neighborhoods, but paid campgrounds and gym lots are easy, safe options. Roads are wide, well-marked, and you’ve got direct access to I-10, 202, and 60. Winters are perfect, summers are HOT — you must have ventilation, plenty of water and battery fans dialed in. Monsoon season brings brief but dramatic storms, so waterproof and roof-check your rig.
